In 2024, I had the privilege to embark on a remarkable journey, starting as an independent marine scientist. Here are the highlights:
– Engaging in advanced GIS training with reputable organizations like ESRI, GREd Foundation, Avakaza Geospatial Technologies, and more, enhancing my programming skills through collaboration with talented peers and trainers.
– Embarking on enriching family holidays to diverse destinations like the white desert in India, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, England, Wales, and a memorable return to the Arctic circle, creating cherished moments with loved ones.
– Showcasing my research concepts at prestigious events such as the GeoHab 2024 marine habitat mapping conference in Norway, the Challenger Conference in Oban, Scotland, and actively participating in volunteer initiatives with esteemed groups like the Challenger Society for Marine Science and Women in Coastal Geoscience and Engineering Network.
– Commencing a new role in October at the Umeå Marine Science Centre, Sweden as a Research Engineer, contributing to the innovative blue carbon project in South East Asia alongside a dedicated international research team.
– Conquering personal health challenges by assuming the role of coordinator at my local Diabetes UK volunteer group, collaborating with my gym personal trainer to promote the synergy between physical wellness and mental well-being.
Looking ahead to 2025, my aspirations revolve around furthering my career in marine science, driving impactful and practical scientific endeavors in my professional sphere. Grateful to all my connections for a fulfilling and rewarding year; looking forward to continued collaboration in the upcoming year!
